BBC 1XTRA - "monkey" - (2008) :30 (UK)

Having spent my youth drooling over every inch of "Tank girl", I'm dead exited that Jamie Hewlett did this. It's awesome. It's rawkin' ossom, because it's Jamie's. Screw people who think the opposite, I'm a loyal fan. Nyah! For Audio fans, Damon Albarn did the score. Yes, that adds up to one slice of Gorillaz. How cool are the Beijing Olympics on BBC? Way cooler than anywhere else.

Trident - "Fresh" / Elevator Trip (literally) - (2008) :40 (UK)

Another version of the old idea of chewing gum as psychedelic drug that creates watery images. This one is trippier than others though

Amnesty International - Signature - (2008) 3:03 (France)

TBWA Paris are back for Amnesty International with a vengeance - after the maybe/probably never approved bronze Lion winning campaign - this poignant animated short sells your signature really well. I particularly like that the victims have no mouths, and symbolically can not speak for themselves.

BBC2 - House of Saddam - (2008) :40 (UK)

Agency: Red Bee Media, London

Samsung Electronics NV24HD - Lions - (2008) :80 (UK)

Grace Jones - "Corporate Cannibal" - (2008) 6 minutes (USA)

Some of us are slaves to Grace Jones and her knack for reinventing herself each time to something larger than life, the video for her song "Corporate Cannibal," directed by Nick Hooker of Rabbit, and cut by Union's Sloane Klevin, manipulates that image like never before and wowed fans and critics alike in London recently when it opened Jones' show as part of Massive Attack's Meltdown Festival. Jones had approached Hooker about a collaboration after seeing his art work and the animated projections he created for U2's Vertigo tour, also cut by Klevin.

VH1 - “I Love NY” - (2008) :15 (USA)

When VH1 needed to create a vibrant, compelling show opening for their new reality series, “I Love New York,” they came straight to Version2. Whirlwind graphics of colorful butterflies and floating hearts swirl around VH1’s newest bachelorette, New York. The still images and animations lead us through New York’s garden of suitors, then into her bachelor-lined mansion lining up to win her heart.

Smirnoff North - Sword - (2008) :25 (USA)

(I'm not sure what "Nordic berries" means. Why don't they just say blueberries? Or artic blueberries if they prefer. We have a lot of berries up north. Berries...and elk!)

Version2’s Micah Scarpelli cuts this serenely beautiful spot for Smirnoff North, a new blend of the classic vodka flavored with Nordic berries. CD/Inferno Artist Kieran Walsh and Director Mikon Van Gastel collaborated to create the seamless melding of live action with intricate CG and VFX.

Version2’s Kieran Walsh explains: "I think this is one of those projects that looks relatively simple, but was deceptively complicated to achieve the exact look we wanted. To create the iceberg, we utilized a hybrid approach of both 3D and live action. The iceberg was match-modeled to a high resolution image and then rendered as many different layers. We had some passes of highly refractive transparent ice and others in a more opaque frosty material. This gave me the flexibility to selectively combine these different looks as required. "

The opening credits are a visual cacophony of animated hearts, bikini-clad suitor-rettes, and images of the rocker himself showing off his hair, hats, and Harley.
