i am looking for some older car ads...some VW Beetle commercials from the later 70*s (1974-1979-mainly to 1977 because i own a 1977 VW Beetle hardtop) and some 2nd generation (1970-1981) Camaro and Firebird commercials...maybe some mid-to-late 70*s GMC pickup and Chevy pickup/Blazer commercials...does anyone have these?
usatvads, i know you will most likely chime in and say you guys have them...so i have a question...how much would you guys charge to compile a few of them into a DVD or to upload them? i will pay SOME, but not an UNGODLY amount...they are just TV spots, lol...thanks in advance!
Josh

Josh, the UNGODLY amount stems from the fact that making copies is timeconsuming (because you have to identify the right(s) holders and get permission to create and sell copies) and thus becomes expensive.
I know, they*re "just" tv-spots but either you spend the time yourself tracking down those who have the copyright to get copies (and save money that way) or you simply pay someone else to do it.
wink
Just trying to explain where the costs comes from.
Some compilation tapes like the ones put out by the likes of Shots, or adforum or adwardshows, "mass-made" in a way makes the costs come down considerably but the market is still so small (only ad professionals like us seem to buy these things) that the tapes/DVD*s costs quite a lot compared to say, the latest Hollywood blockbuster which has 5 billion copies on DVD.
We can always hope that with the growing popularity of buying ads on DVD more different kinds of compilation tapes will be offered eventually and costs might come down. smile
