Does anyone remember?...
Several years ago, probably in the late '90's to early 2000's, there was a late night commercial that featured a magician. I am not even sure what product the ad was for, but there was a persistent and annoying song that played in the background loudly. It sounded like nickelodeon music, kind of a tinny carnival sound. No one I have ever talked to has seen it and I wonder if I need to have my head examined. The commercial had a haunting quality to it and had a 'turn of the century' feel to it. I seem to think the magician set up a table and perhaps used pennies in his trick. Am I imagining this???
If you ever saw it, please tell me more about it and what it advertised.

I seem to recall a longer ident for MTV around 99/2K that had "Sepia-toned jerky film-look" and really sticky tinny background music in it. Might you have been watching MTV at the time, it would be the only place that would have aired (since it was for MTV).
Thank you for your thoughts. This would have aired on one of the major networks because I do not have cable or a dish. My husband often fell asleep while watching late night TV, and when this ad came on, the music always awakened me. It had a nighmarish effect on my subconscious mind.
Perhaps it was simply a nightmare?
:-D Perhaps, except that I did waken my husband once when it came on the TV, and he heard the last few seconds of it. He did not see it as he was turned away from the TV, but he definitely heard the music.
