Which award shows are MUST ENTER?
Hey
So, for some reason my agency has decided to get all stingy on the award entering this year and aren't sending stuff in to quite a few award shows. In fact, nearly all award shows are shunned.
This happens to be the year I've produced some work that I feel has a chance and the creative directors say it is OK for me to enter this where I see fit.
Awards are expensive as hell, and I've missed quite a few deadlines already - can adgrunts help me figure out which ones I still have a chance in? The campaign (TV, radio and outdoor) ran from August 2008 to March 2008. I'm going for broke and trying Cannes. Which others should I go for? Is it better to skip campaign categories and enter radio directly in radio categories? (there's three executions on that)

Damn, you just missed the deadline for The Radio Mercury awards (USA) - which really is a must enter if you've done decent radio. Why? Because you win CASH!
Oh fuck. I knew I should have asked sooner. The decision to not enter any awards took us by surprise.
London International's pretty much the only one left for this year. Their deadline's in June, I think. The good news is they've got a lot of radio categories, including technique categories. The even better news is that I'm often on the radio jury, so you can bribe me.
You've basically missed all the award deadlines this year. Sorry mate.
Thanks guys. I did have time to enter London International. Now all I have to do is bribe brenthahn. Where do you want your case of fine single malt mailed to sir?

Don't enter EuroBest (nobody knows it, there's no award festival, very expensive to enter).
Do enter Cannes (still the most prestigious, hard to win though and expensive to enter). And the New York Festival (nice award and quite cheap to enter). One Show. Creative Circle. D&AD (best work in the world, but for some silly reason the book is no longer sold in shops, so nobody can see if you've won. Except a few members).
