Dead Brands
Hey,
I'm doing an assignment for branding class where we have to pick a dead or dying brand to rebrand. I'm having trouble coming up with ideas... what brands would ya'll like to see come back?

Atari is back but all everyone remembers is the iconic 1970s status - how would you rebrand this company?
Also I'd like to see your take on instant mash, a la "for mash get smash" - remember the robots? (UK)

How is Tang doing today?
Try candy - recall any candy that was huge when you were a kid that you can't even find today?
Unfortunately someone in my class is already doing Atari.
That Smash Mash commercial was adorable! I've never heard of it before.
I originally wanted to do Dairy Queen, but my professor doesn't think it is a dying brand.
Thanks for the suggestions!
Formerly famous frozen food / TV-dinner brand names are ripe for rebranding.
You might score extra credit points if you rebrand something that is politically incorrect today. Tobacco or alcohol. Pall Mall hasn't run ads since the seventies afaik - and there must be an "unknown" beer that's been around forever that could do with a rehaul.
Schiltz beer?
Oh yeah - when you're out of Schlitz, you're out of beer! They advertised during the 1969 superbowl.
Schlitz - Comin' atcha - 0:30 (USA) 1969

Schlitz - a moment - 0:30 (USA) 1969

Schlitz
"The beer that made Milwaukee famous."
"Just the kiss of the hops."
"Breakfast of Champions" (Unofficial)
There are some good old Schlitz print ads on the web.
ooo I like the frozen dinner idea... a lot of them are actually pretty good yet nobody really wants to admit they eat them.
I had to decide on Monday, so I went with Arthur Treachers fish & chips. I have vague memories of them from my childhood, and apparently people used to wait inline for 30 minutes or more to eat there, which is really strange for a fast food place.
thanks for all the ideas!
So, now that I've picked Arthur Treacher's, I'm trying to find out what people think about the brand. I would like to get at least 200 responses. If you like fish, please take my survey at: http://www.surveymonkey.com/s.aspx?sm=twjRIQmVNyvVjEMDilHYsg_3d_3d
It's only ten questions, so it shouldn't take you more than a few minutes.
Thank you!!
ooops, I forgot to take the survey. Sorry.

I don't drink anymore, but I still will indulge in Heinz Sandwhich Spread when I can find it.
You drink Heinz Sandwich Spread? You sick, sick person.
No; but Todd Robbins might. I'm still a sick, sick person though.
