"Society fingered for Cancer ad"

OK, fine - so I just like the headline in combo with the image below. The infamous incident where Wests Tigers player Hopoate stuck his finger into the bottoms of Cowboys players in a game two weekends ago has been immortalized not only in sports press but also in ads against prostate cancer. I just wish I knew what the headline said...

The use of disgraced league player John Hopoate to promote prostate cancer has outraged abuse support groups.

Former Wests Tigers player Hopoate stuck his finger into the bottoms of three Cowboys players in a game two weekends ago.

A newspaper advertisement, put out by the Wellington Cancer Society, features his illegal use of the finger to make men think about prostate cancer. Amy Ross of Rape Crisis says the ad is unnecessary.

"Abuse is not something to be laughed at in whatever form it takes." Prostate Cancer usually affects men aged 40 and over. It can be detected through a rectal examination or blood test. "It is a sad indictment on society when we have to use that type of ad to get across our messages," says Steve Caldwell of Victim Support.

But Roger Taylor of the Cancer Society says they saw an opportunity and took it.

"It was a shocking ad for a shocking disease and if we've managed to get men talking about that disease then that is a plus."
